Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of StellaCV (stellacv.com). By using the site, you agree to them. We've written these in plain language because we think you should understand what you're agreeing to.

What StellaCV is

StellaCV is a web-based resume builder. You can use it to create, edit, and export resumes as PDFs. Some features are free, others require a paid subscription (StellaCV Pro). We also offer AI-powered writing assistance and ATS scoring.

Your content

You own everything you create with StellaCV. Your resume content, cover letters, and any other text you write belong to you. We do not claim any rights to your content.

By default, your data is stored locally in your browser. If you enable cloud sync, you grant us permission to store your data on our servers solely to provide the sync service. We will not use your content for any other purpose.

Free tier

The free tier includes the resume editor, AI writing suggestions, ATS scoring, and PDF export. There are no watermarks, no resume limits, and no time restrictions. We may change what's included in the free tier over time, but we will not retroactively restrict features you've already used.

Pro subscription

StellaCV Pro is a paid subscription billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from your account settings or through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll sort it out.

AI features

AI-powered features generate suggestions based on your input. These suggestions are starting points, not professional career advice. You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated content before using it. We do not guarantee that AI suggestions will be accurate, appropriate for your situation, or effective.

ATS scoring

Our ATS scorer checks your resume against 18 common criteria. It provides a useful estimate, not a guarantee. Different companies use different ATS systems with different rules. A high score improves your chances but does not guarantee your resume will pass every system.

Acceptable use

Don't use StellaCV to:

• Create fraudulent resumes with fabricated credentials
• Abuse AI features (automated scraping, excessive API calls)
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse-engineer or resell the service

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Availability

We aim to keep StellaCV available at all times, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances beyond our control. Because your data is stored locally by default, you can always access your resume even if our servers are down.

Limitation of liability

StellaCV is provided "as is." We do our best to make it reliable and useful, but we are not liable for lost data, missed job opportunities, or any other damages resulting from your use of the service. If you rely on local storage, we recommend periodically exporting your resume as a PDF backup.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll note the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of StellaCV after changes means you accept the updated terms.
